Many people have been asking how I have reached my current goals, or what my "secret" was. I started by realizing that fad diets were out of the question. Even if I were to lose 50 lbs on Atkins it was not something I could maintain for life. I searched around a bit and found the best "lifestyle diet" for me was to start eating clean!
What is Clean eating?
Clean eating is a lifestyle of eating unprocessed foods, fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains
What Do I eat?
Fruits, Vegetables, Turkey, Chicken, Fish, Natural Peanut Butter, Brown Rice, Whole Grain Bread (Healthfull 10 Grain), Oats, Hummus, Beans, Eggs, almond milk
Avoid all sugary processed foods! After my second week of clean eating my cravings started to go away. Now 2+ months in I have no problem saying no to a hot fudge sundae!!
Make sure you follow the 80%-20% rule.
Allow yourself a treat once in a while. It will keep you sane.
But don't let a cheat get you down. You wont lose weight eating one salad so you will not gain weight from an occasional cheat!
My Typical Day
I consume 1300 calories a day on average, I do keep track but I do not restrict myself because I am eating all healthy foods. So I eat when I am hungry. This includes eating late at night.
For Breakfast I typically have a cup of fruit and yogurt or toast with peanut butter
or a Naked or Boathouse smoothie.
For Lunch I try to mix it up so I don't get bored some examples of my lunches are vegetable stir fry's, veggies with rice, salads with turkey or chicken, morning star veggie burgers, cottage cheese and fruit salad, hummus with veggies!
Examples of my Dinners... turkey burger, salmon burger, grilled chicken, grilled fish and some of my favorite sides are kale chips, sweet potato fries, steamed broccoli, spinach, brown rice..ect.

I normally drink a minimum of 10 glasses of water a day.

I absolutely love coffee and my hazelnut creamer and it is one thing I have not given up!

So you dont do workout?

ReplyDeleteHi ladies, yes I do workout. I just added an excercise page with a little info and I will be adding details! It depends on the day if i consume my calories burned but generally I do

ReplyDeleteI started doing both together! In the beginning I probably focused more on changing my diet than exercising! But I did incorporate them both in together.
